Herbal Therapy

Herbal therapy consultation involves a comprehensive assessment by our trained and licensed practitioners to determine your overall health and to identify patterns of health concern and disharmony in the body. During your consultation, we will discuss the following:

  1. Health History and Symptoms: We will start by gathering information about your current health condition, including any specific symptoms you are experiencing. We may ask about your medical history, lifestyle, diet, sleep patterns, and emotional well-being.

  2. Diagnostic Techniques: We use various diagnostic techniques to assess your body's condition. These may include pulse diagnosis, tongue examination, and observation of physical characteristics such as skin color and complexion.

  3. Pattern Identification: Based on the information gathered, your practitioner will identify patterns of disharmony in the body according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) principles. These patterns are often categorized in terms of Yin and Yang imbalances, Qi and Blood deficiencies or excesses, and the state of the body's organ systems.

  4. Individualized Herbal Prescription: Using the information obtained from the assessment, we will formulate an individualized herbal prescription. This prescription typically consists of a combination of various herbs, each chosen for its specific properties and functions. The goal is to address the underlying patterns of disharmony and promote balance within the body. Herbal formulas prescribed come in capsule and tincture forms from companies that are gold standards for cultivation, process and formulation in the industry.

  5. Discussion and Education: We will take time to discuss the prescribed herbal formula with you, explaining the rationale behind each herb's inclusion and how the combination aims to restore balance. Lifestyle and dietary changes to complement the herbal therapy may also be discussed.

  6. Follow-up Plan: Chinese herbal therapy often involves a course of treatment. We may schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, adjust the herbal prescription if necessary, and address any new developments in your health.
